Have your Say

J.T. of Devizes Writes:
I like the Website and find it very useful and informative, but it's very difficult to find what I am looking for at times. There seems to be too much content.

New Webmaster replies:
I've taken your point though, like Dave, I feel that you can never have "too much content" on an information Website. I hope that each page's content is now limited to the subject matter you hope to find and there aren't too many links on each page. It's a matter of being able to click on the pages that you need without other pages and buttons getting into the act. (Written on 16 August 2004).

Anon Writes:
I rely on your Website very much for the Show Schedule, but it never seems to be there until just before the Show.

Webmaster replies:
I can't accept the blame for this one. As soon as I get a copy of the Show Schedule, I tabularise it in a format suitable to put out on the Site. For legal reasons (GCCF Rules) the Schedule mustn't be published earlier than 3 months before Show Day - our website is considered to be a publication.
Janet Ashman (Chairman) Writes:
You may have seen the article which recently featured in the Daily Mail entitled "Baby Gro warms up a very cool cat" (16 Jan 2004) about the poor Persian Cat, abandoned with its coat so matted that it had to be Clipped off by the Vet.
I wrote to the Mail 'Letters Straight to the point', the following:- In your report "Hamish" was identified as a 'Golden Chinchilla', but they all have Emerald or Blue-Green eyes. He clearly has dazzling Copper eyes, and a White Blaze, so he is a 'Bi-Colour Persian'; he should look stunning when his coat grows back.

Persian Cat Judge.

Their Reply:-
Thank you very much for your recent communication. We receive a great deal of correspondence each day and, as I hope you will appreciate, it is only possible to publish a small percentage of it.
I am sorry that on this occasion, your contribution was not among those published, but I am grateful to you for taking the time to contact us.
Yours sincerely,
ANDY SIMPSON,
Daily Mail Readers Letters Editor.

Webmaster's Comment:- Alas yesterday's news is today's fish & chip wrapper - or cat litter!.

Ian Morgan Writes:-

I like the fact that you have the schedule on the site, but would find it easier if the different sections (ie Foreign; Semi-Longhair; etc.) could be separate from each other so that they can be printed out individually, thus saving on ink and paper for those of us who only show one breed of cat. Also: could it be possible to have the Entry Form in a format that is more user friendly perhaps PDF, as the "Word" document you have at the moment would not open properly on my computer - I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem.

New Webmaster's Comment: Dave was running 14 cat club websites at the time this comment reached him. He didn't have time to reach the ideal solution. When the time comes in 2005, I'll bear your point in mind and see if I can produce a pdf file for downloading piecemeal. (Written on 16 August 2004)
